Fun on the water

By boat, paddleboard, or canoe, there are 1001 experiences to be had on the water in Libourne

Just 30 minutes from Bordeaux, the Libourne region promises relaxation in the heart of nature! Here you’ll find a preserved environment and landscapes that undulate between rivers and vineyards. Designated a “World Biosphere Reserve” by UNESCO in 2012, the Dordogne River, and its tributaries, the Isle and the Dronne, are a treasure dear to the hearts of the Libourne region.

Today, you can visit mills, sail on the Dordogne from the Port of Libourne Saint-Emilion, surf the tidal bore 100 km from the ocean, or sail up the Isle River… If wine is the Libourne region’s culinary asset, the rivers are its charm.

A bucolic fishing trip

Did you know that the Libourne region is the second-largest fishing spot in Gironde? Whether you’re an amateur, avid angler, or just a casual fisherman, you can enjoy enclosed fishing, particularly at Lac des Dagueys: free fishing activities are offered all summer by the Tourist Office.

The Isle River is also an endless playground for open-water anglers, whether on the towpaths or in the shade of the riverside trees for a bucolic fishing trip.
